Promo for Fantastic Fireworks - tribute to the Oscar-winning French movie in Leap Year. Shot on a shoestring, using my own camera and a couple of floodlights the client had handy.
Only me and the make-up artist are pros.
I prepared the shooting script from the idea supplied, directed the action, was lighting cameraman (John Nicholas is my alter ego) and editor.
Shot in HDV using my Sony Z1 on a setting for black and white film effect (PP6).

A canal-paced, relaxed and informative cruise with narrowboats Raymond and Nutfield.
Enjoy the scenery along the cut and find out about: working through narrow locks; towing on cross straps; breasting up and singling out; steering the motorboat and the butty; working through tunnels; what we do at canalside events.
Raymond was the last wooden commercial narrowboat ever built inBritain - Nutfield towed Raymond during the last years of its commercial working life, and they are working together again now, allowing the public to see and go onboard a historic vessel.
