side they proudly stand<br \/>\nfacing wind and snow,<br \/>\nreaching to the stars above,<br \/>\nrooted in the earth below.<\/p>\n<p>One acorn in a tiny pot<br \/>\nsends down a probing root,<br \/>\nboring through the soil,<br \/>\nit anchors fast its foot.<\/p>\n<p>Mighty guardians of the past<br \/>\nwhen forest covered earth,<br \/>\nmiracles of nature&#8217;s art,<br \/>\nbringing life to birth.<\/p>\n<p>Once planted in the wood<br \/>\na community emerges,<br \/>\nas roots form a living mat,<br \/>\neach carrying life&#8217;s surges.<\/p>\n<p>Fixing carbon in the soil<br \/>\nturning sunlight into leaves,<br \/>\nshepherds of the atmosphere,<br \/>\ngiving us air to breathe.<\/p>\n<p>The trees carry all our hopes<br \/>\nfor living on this earth,<br \/>\nif we cut down much more<br \/>\nwe lose what it is worth.<\/p>\n<p>A squirrel dances on a branch<br \/>\nrooks clamour in the crown,<br \/>\ninsects burrow in the bark,<br \/>\nthe acorns tumble down.<\/p>\n<p>The two oaks are witnesses<br \/>\nto our ancient past,<br \/>\ntelling us to change, or<br \/>\nwe will never last.<\/p>\n<p>17.6.20<\/p>\n<p><a
