\nto protect the weakest of our neighbours.<\/p>\n
Powerful figures fear loss of face,
\nwhen facing the truth is no disgrace.
\nSpouting promises about future glory,
\nthey fail to connect with the dismal story.<\/p>\n
The forgotten poor, their plight ignored
\nare waiting in vain for justice restored.
\nThe wealthy can all protect their rights,
\nleaving the poorest to put out the lights.<\/p>\n
Where now the inspiring news story
\nof sacrificial love, not personal glory?
\nJust a few break the pervading gloom,
\neach showing compassion, often on Zoom.<\/p>\n
People acting together, showing they care
\nputting others first by being aware.
\nChildren, adults, empathy growing in scope,
\nall with answers to need, renewing hope.<\/p>\n
Let’s break the cycle of despairing news,
\nto give us a picture with different views.
\nHelp us celebrate all the good we can do,
