Across the darkened land,
\nas winter cold descends,
\non buildings large and small,
\nan eruption takes place
\nof brilliant flashing lights,
\ndancing across windows,
\nfalling down walls, in
\na show that never ends.<\/p>\n
Old trees are garlanded,
\nwith chains of coloured light
\nwhilst hedges blossom out
\nin brand new mantles of
\npulsating colours, like
\nfireworks bursting out
\nacross the startled eyes
\nof roosting owls at night.<\/p>\n
This exhibition blazes
\nacross the gloomy sky,
\nsending hopeful signals
\nof worries set aside,
\nFamilies determined
\nto celebrate our life,
\nbanish all our sorrow
\nand laugh instead of cry.<\/p>\n
Banish the darkness now
\nfor shining in the night
\nis hope renewed again.
\nChristmas joy abounds with
\nchildren’s voices singing
\nold carols worn by love,
\ntelling that a Saviour
\nbrings us all the light.<\/p>\n
