The sun\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s hot arms enfold the garden
\nin a blaze of light, that makes cats sleep;
\nand the trees lift sprouting branches high,
\nsated with the energy they keep.<\/p>\n
Among the flowers one drinks in sun,
\nas water feeds the pond set lilies;
\nits tight curled petals glow with fire,
\nturning sunlight into colours.<\/p>\n
The rosebush, holding court once yearly,
\nshowers petals like a confetti
\ncavalcade of scented courtiers,
\nlaying down their cloaks so sweetly.<\/p>\n
Once so plain, a skeleton drying,
\nholding all it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s energy pruned;
\nthe rosebush now exults in life,
\nthe annual resurrection done.<\/p>\n
