\npast the busy lakeside scene; with
\nlots of tents and caravans, and small
\nboats tied up by the green.<\/p>\n
On Ullswater, a steamer passes by,
\npeople waving to the shore; all
\nmasked and socially distanced
\nwith covid at the door.<\/p>\n
We sit at Grannie Dowbekins by
\nthe bustling new bridge site; men
\nin hard hats pouring concrete,
\ntrying to get it right.<\/p>\n
So many memories gathered here,
\nwith family trips aplenty; my
\nlittle granddaughter paddling,
\nnow she is passing twenty.<\/p>\n
We gather for her birthday lunch
\nbeside the flowing stream; past
\nblending in the present day
\nas by the bridge we dream.<\/p>\n
