The Still Point

Unmoving centre of the wheel’s
revolution, so slow it
does not show.

The leaf at rest on the branch
all trembling gone, at
one with the air.

Your hand upon my arm
wanting no answer
but to be there.

Last kiss of the wave
on the polished stone
upon the beach.

Eyes held in a gaze
not moving, are
deep pools.
