A Young Girl Running

Mozart Piano Conc. no.9 in E flat major, K271 (3rd movement).
Titled: ‘jeunhomme’

Flying hands shower notes
like spring cherry blossom
in Japan.
Cascades of sound flowing
from the piano conjure a
young girl.
Running, catch me if you can,
through long grass, hair
flowing in the wind.
Laughing at the world, full
of fun and life, ’till breathless
she runs to a stop.
Standing, passive by a tree,
listening to the wind,
bird call up above.
Then, then off again
to race down to
the sea.
